Top 15 Baby Travel and Beach Must-Haves

May 14, 2022

My little family of 3 recently went on our first family vacation (to the beach)! With our son being just 6 months old, I wanted to make sure we were as prepared as possible in order to help make our beach travels (and air plane experience) a little easier. Air travel, especially with an infant, can seem nerve-wracking the very first time.

Top 10 Baby Must-Haves!

January 25, 2022

While I was still pregnant, I spent a lot of time researching what kind of things we might need/find useful with having a newborn. As a first time mom, I wanted to make sure we had everything we thought we might need before baby arrived so we could be as prepared as possible. It helps to have other young moms in your life to ask these kinds of questions to as well. My best friend had a baby 6 months before I did so she has been a tremendous resource for so many of my questions and baby item recommendations! (Thank you Anna♥) Also, being a nanny for many years exposed me to tons of different baby items, too!

At this time last year, we were putting the finish At this time last year, we were putting the finishing touches together in our sons nursery. 💛 It still takes my breath away that God has chosen us to be parents to our sweet little boy.

He’ll be 10 months this coming week. Time surely flies so quickly, but I love watching him grow, learn, baby talk, snuggle, and laugh. Every day gets better with this little cutie.

CLOSET ORGANIZATION I recently revamped our maste CLOSET ORGANIZATION

I recently revamped our master closet and organized it a bit more to make it a little more practical. (Before pic is at the end) Shoes are now at the bottom. I have bins at the top with labels and then our large tote is still there since we use it to fill with clothes we no longer want. Clearly it’s full - so it’s time to donate again!

I took advantage of Prime Day last week and got some great deals on things! I also love the black labels that I got for these bins cause they clip right on top and are very easy to read!

Did you catch my stories yesterday about all my ta Did you catch my stories yesterday about all my talk about toys?! I love seeing my little guy explore + play independently🥰

I wanna talk toy storage for a minute — so pleas I wanna talk toy storage for a minute — so please hear me out!

Since having our son, I’ve already gone through several toy organization systems because of 3 main reasons. Before I share my reasons, I want to make sure that I address the fact that I know I only have one small child, so we don’t have nearly as much as if we were to have other children… but modeling organization is important to me.

I do not mean for this post to come across as anything other than inspirational because remember, what works for my family might not work for you + THATS OK! I am simply sharing what I find works best for me + my household.

Here are 3 reasons why I believe toy storage is important + why it’s also beneficial for your child:

1) toy needs change as your child changes + grows

2) having a designated space for each toy helps keep them taken care of + it models respect

3) it can make cleanup a little easier!

What worked for my 2 month old son, won’t work appropriately for him now at 9 months old. I no longer need rattles, but now can use pull up toys, or toys with buttons. I’m constantly doing an inventory of our toys because I like providing as much age appropriate learning as possible to help keep my sons brain stimulated. So, having a system helps me stay on top of our sons toys + helps me monitor when I feel we have too many

A second reason I like to have an organization system is because I find it helpful in knowing where pieces are.

When my sons playing with his stacking cups or baby puzzles, it’s nice to have the whole set. I know for myself that I wouldn’t want to be in the middle of a puzzle trying to look for missing pieces, so why would my child? Modeling respect for our toys (even at an early age!) is very important to me to teach to our son.

Lastly, when you know where something goes, it makes putting it back that much easier! I remember hearing this from someone many years ago “if it takes you more than 5 minutes to clean up your toys, it means you have too much.” Whether you find that true or not, it gives you something to think about. Sometimes we don’t need more toys - we just need to know how to correctly play with + respect the ones we have!

⭐️Baby/Toddler Learning Activity⭐️ I made ⭐️Baby/Toddler Learning Activity⭐️

I made a book of “our family” for my 8 month old. There’s pictures of each of our immediate family members so we can practice names and word association. I kept it simple with only pictures for now, but down the road I can easily use my label maker to write each persons name to help support my little guys language development. I love the way my son smiles when I point out different family members! With some family near, and some family far, I want him to know our family is always important! ❤️

To make: I gathered the best selfies of each of our family members, printed the pictures, laminated them, and then made a cover for the book. A fairly inexpensive idea that will last a long time and can be added to easily as your family grows!

Side note; when I worked in childcare, we’d use the Ohio Department of Education Early Learning Standards to create developmentally appropriate activities to help support the early learning and development of the little ones. Each state has their own standards, but in Ohio the standards start from birth! So if you’re a parent and interested in seeing what kind of things your kiddo may be doing at each of the stages, check out your states standards to help support their growth!
Bought the cutest little wooden car + truck set fo Bought the cutest little wooden car + truck set for my son to play with since he’s crawling everywhere, and I just love them! 🚙

These are perfect for crawling age kiddos, could be used as decor in a car themed bed room, and would really make a great toy for any toddler! They roll SO easily.

Been kinda unplugging lately from IG and it’s because I’m busy working on myself and spending all the time teaching + playing with my little guy. Cherishing these days to the fullest and loving every second. 💕 We also rearranged and updated our workout area and I’m loving the extra space!! 🙌🏻

BEACH VIBES 🌴👙☀️🕶 I wore this to the BEACH VIBES 🌴👙☀️🕶

I wore this to the beach last week and this outfit made me feel good✨

I am trying to get better at talking more positively to myself, about myself.

After going through IVF and pregnancy, my body went through a lot and I’ve accepted the new me 👏

I’m grateful beyond words to have carried my son, and would do it 1,000 times over. Of course I care about what I fuel my body with and how I take care of it, but I’m reminding myself lately that it’s what’s on the inside that matters most! 💖

So in case you need a reminder today too, here’s to loving the body God gave you, wear the cute outfit that makes you feel amazing, and let your confidence shine✨

I heard this audio going around and it instantly m I heard this audio going around and it instantly made me tear up when I looked at my sons stork bite. Normally you see them on the back of the neck, which our son has one there too, but the one on his forehead is so unique to me. It’s a spot that I kiss every day. 💕

It wasn’t until I heard this audio, that I realized maybe our angel baby in heaven, kissed our sweet Wesley. And now, every time I kiss Wesley on his head, a part of me feels like I am kissing our angel baby, too. 🥰
INFERTILITY AWARENESS WEEK *this is not a pregnanc INFERTILITY AWARENESS WEEK
*this is not a pregnancy announcement*

After a scary ectopic pregnancy, bilateral salpingectomy surgery, and then IVF, we were ecstatic when we found out we were expecting our rainbow baby last year. It was during this week last year that we got to share our exciting news. We are so grateful that after all we had been through, that our infertility journey ended when our son entered the world.

What will never end though, is my compassion for those who still struggle. Infertility changes the way you view life, it did for me anyhow. I do everything with such intention now. I often felt frustrated and sad. Most days my identity was lost in being infertile and having no control over it. But every day I tried my best to say what I was grateful for and to do things that would heal my heart.

If you’re reading this and you are experiencing infertility, the number one thing I want you to know is that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Infertility is hard, lonely, and isolating. It’s hard to choose joy when there are reminders all around you of what you want so badly. I’ve been there. I understand. But you truly are not alone.

Whether you struggle in silence or struggle and choose to share, that is OK.

I however feel a strong need to share our story whenever I have the chance. I found an immense healing in doing so. I have also been able to connect with women who have struggled too. Speaking about the hard stuff is not easy, but is necessary.

Please as a reminder, do not ask people when they’re going to have kids. It’s an incredibly personal question. Be gentle if you’re on the opposite side and have a friend who’s struggling, take time to be there for them. Ask them how you can support them.

I’m always an open ear for anyone reading this. 💕

Swipe to add baby to the changing table 😆 —> Swipe to add baby to the changing table 😆 —>

When Josh + I first started preparing the nursery, I couldn’t wait to decorate! One of the first pieces I bought was this bumble bee and cloud mobile.

Typically you see mobiles above cribs, but I wanted nothing hanging above the crib in case it fell on our son in the middle of the night. That’s when I decided adding it above the changing table would be a good idea.

The mobile we bought was a purchase from Etsy. It’s so delicate. It’s handmade. And it is just such a beautiful piece that I love!

So for anyone else who loves the idea of a mobile, but doesn’t wanna hang it from the ceiling over the crib, consider adding it above the changing table.

✨LETS TALK BABY FOOD✨ I love to cook. I alway ✨LETS TALK BABY FOOD✨

I love to cook. I always have. When I got pregnant I knew that I would want to make as much baby food for my son as I could!

Making baby purées is actually a lot easier than I thought I would be.

We use @weesproutco glass baby food jars. Glass is the best in my opinion because it does not have any chemicals. These jars are freezer safe so I will make a large batch of purées and usually pop half of the jars in the freezer and half in the fridge. They reheat very well and you can serve the food right from the jar. Best part is that I know exactly how all of his food is being made.

The pack of glass jars we bought came with a dry erase marker to use for labeling each jar!

I use a magic bullet to puree his food once I’ve cooked it, and then I usually add water until I get the right consistency. The magic bullet really makes it easy for me to make his food and it always purées everything really well! Plus the magic bullet is very convenient due to the small size. My husband has been using the magic bullet since we first got married. He makes a smoothie every morning for himself so I am happy we did not need to buy anything specifically for making baby food because we already had the magic bullet!

We’ve been introducing a new food just about every other day and our son has pretty much liked everything.

Anyone else who might be interested in making their own baby food, please always feel free to message me and I can share any other tips if you may need.

I always knew my deepest desire was to be a mom, r I always knew my deepest desire was to be a mom, raise a family, and be married to a loving husband. Here I am living that dream. Most days I am just in awe that I’m living my dream. I’m so, SO grateful.

I sometimes question if I’m “doing enough” though. It’s crazy how society can make you feel that way. But you know who never makes me feel like that? JESUS.

Prior to becoming a mom, in the darkest season of my waiting, and some of the other personal things my husband and I were going through, I ran to the father in prayer with all my doubts + worries. In this new season of parenthood, it can be easy to think it’s our job to have all the answers for our kids. But, it’s actually Jesus who has all of our answers. Whether its the answer we want or not, He has them. It’s our job to lean into Him and carefully listen.

The innocence, tenderness, and joy I see in my son, is a reminder that I need to approach Jesus with innocence, tenderness and joy, too. I may not find complete peace in all situations here on this earth, but in Jesus I will always find peace.

I’ve been studying the book of John with a small group at my church, and I’m learning that John (the sheep) was obedient to Jesus (the Shepard).

I need and want to be obedient too.
We all have struggles. It’s just a part of life. I often hesitate to go too deeply into sharing about Jesus, because I feel like there is still so much I have to learn and mature on, and if I’m being truly honest, I worry about what other people will think of me. “Am I really going to reach someone?”... but Gods judgement is the only judgement that matters. We are never to young to share Gods love and goodness. (1 Timothy 4:12)

I’m sure someone out there will maybe judge me as they read this, but I too believe that maybe, just maybe, there’s someone going through something right now, and maybe they’ve read this and something touched their heart.

If that’s you, whatever it is you’re struggling with, you don’t have to do it alone. There’s too much bad out there in this dark world to not share Gods shining light and saving grace!! Please open your mind, open your heart, and come to Jesus. I guarantee your life will be made new.
